Fullerton's Bowen To Host Benefit Golf Tourney

Irvine, Calif. - Three-time NBA Champion and former Cal State Fullerton men's basketball player Bruce Bowen is hosting an inaugural golf tournament to benefit the Titans' current program. In particular, funds will be directed to summer school costs to improve team bonding and conditioning while making on-time graduation more attainable.

The Bruce Bowen Invitational will be held on Monday, Aug. 15, at the Oak Creek Golf Club in Irvine. A complete brochure follows with opportunities for sponsorships, tee signs and individual and foursome entries. Registration can be done on line at www.fullerton.edu/golf/bruceboweninvitational.

Bowen gained international renown as one of the premier defenders in the game and was named to the NBA's All-Defensive Team eight times. He blossomed into a starting forward with the San Antonio Spurs and led the NBA in 3-point shooting in 2002-03. He was a first-team All-Big West Conference selection for the Titans as a senior in 1991-92. He currently serves as a commentator on ESPN.
